DC’s Batman comics have been a staple of superhero comics for generations, and they all star the Dark Knight, Batman. He is Gotham City’s #1 protector and guardian. Despite lacking supernatural powers, he ranks among DC’s strongest heroes, and is a key member of the Justice League organization.
Batman has many assets, from his genius investigation skills and endless wealth to his expertise in martial arts. He also has a wide variety of tools, weapons, and vehicles such as the Batmobile. He compares well to most other comic book heroes and Japanese anime heroes too, though even Batman has his limits. He’s strong, but some anime heroes are more powerful than the Caped Crusader.
10 STRONGER THAN BATMAN: Ichigo Kurosaki Has A Sword & Incredible Speed (Bleach)
Although Ichigo Kurosaki lacks Batman’s genius IQ and fancy gadgets, he more than makes up for it with his spiritual gifts. Ichigo is also a rogue hero dressed in all black who has sworn to keep his friends and hometown safe from any threat, and he has street smarts to match.
Ichigo is a substitute Soul Reaper armed with an incredible zanpakuto, or sword, named Zangetsu. With its bankai, Ichigo can easily outclass Batman’s speed and dexterity in battle, and his Getsuga Tensho technique and Hollow mask all push him over the top. Batman wishes he could move like that.
9 WEAKER THAN BATMAN: Yuji Itadori Has More To Learn (Jujutsu Kaisen)
Yuji Itadori is Jujutsu Kaisen’s shonen hero, and like Batman, he emphasizes martial arts in battle rather than using energy blasts or firearms. One fateful night, Yuji ate one of Ryomen Sukuna’s twenty fingers and gained cursed power. It’s a huge burden to bear, and Yuji has more than a few enemies, including other humans.
Yuji is strong, tough, and athletic for his age, which helps him take the fight to curses in true style. He is learning fast, but he lacks Batman’s extensive martial arts training, and he definitely lacks Batman’s cool gadgets and investigative skills. Maybe he could become Robin instead.
8 STRONGER THAN BATMAN: Saitama Can Win Any Fight (One-Punch Man)
The caped baldy, Saitama, is nigh-unbeatable in combat, though he’s not liable to boast about it. Saitama trained hard to gain strength, and now he can defeat any foe with a single jab, hence One-Punch Man‘s title. He’s also faster than any speeding bullet and can even survive on the moon if he holds his breath.
Batman is also a caped martial artist hero, but even he can’t beat Saitama at his own game. He would struggle against the Deep Sea King or the alien warlord Boros. By contrast, Saitama could beat any of Batman’s enemies, even the powerhouse Bane at full power.
7 WEAKER THAN BATMAN: Edward Elric Is Clever But Lacks Stamina (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood)
Edward Elric is the youngest and most unique state alchemist in Amestris history, and like Batman, he is a clever and resourceful fighter with solid investigation skills and the philosophy of never killing anyone. The two of them would get along reasonably well if they met, but there’s no question that Batman is stronger.
Batman cannot perform alchemy, but he more than makes up for it with everything else, from his superior martial arts and genius IQ to his many gadgets and preparation skills. Batman would uncover Father’s plan a lot faster than Ed ever did.
6 STRONGER THAN BATMAN: Avatar Aang Bends The Four Elements (Avatar: The Last Airbender)
Like Batman, Avatar Aang is a noble hero who refuses to take lives. The White Lotus organization is Aang’s version of the Gotham police department and Commissioner Gordon. Aang is definitely not smarter than Batman and he may lack the Dark Knight’s martial arts training, but he does have elemental bending.
Aang is vastly more powerful than Batman when he bends the four elements, and if he enters the Avatar State, he becomes downright unstoppable as the world’s guardian of peace. Compared to him, Batman is more like a souped-up Sokka with Ty Lee’s martial arts, and Azula’s sharp wits.
5 WEAKER THAN BATMAN: Eraserhead Is Batman-Lite (My Hero Academia)
Shota Aizawa/Eraserhead is My Hero Academia‘s Batman, a grim and serious hero dressed in black who patrols the streets for crime. Eraserhead can erase other people’s Quirks with his Erasure ability. He can’t nullify all Quirks, and his ability won’t ever affect weapons or muscles.
Eraserhead is a powerful and respectable hero in his own right, but he can’t beat Batman. Batman boasts greater martial arts, more stamina, better investigative skills, and more resources. Batman has no Quirk, but at this rate, he doesn’t need one.
4 STRONGER THAN BATMAN: Kakashi Hatake Is A Brilliant Jonin (Naruto)
Kakashi Hatake can do things that Batman could only dream of, such as using the Sharingan eye to track an enemy’s movements and see right through illusions, not to mention his many powerful jutsu, such as the Kamui and the Lightning Blade. He can even take on the Akatsuki with those techniques.
Kakashi isn’t all brawn, though. He shares Batman’s sharp tactical mind and investigative abilities, and very few Naruto characters can fool Kakashi for long. Kakashi is also a toughened combat veteran who has sharp intuition, boosting his effectiveness even further. He should join the Justice League.
3 WEAKER THAN BATMAN: Mikasa Ackerman Is Fast And Deadly (Attack On Titan)
Mikasa Ackerman is one of the most capable Scouts of all, and she is also Eren’s childhood friend and #1 protector. Mikasa underwent Scout training and quickly proved herself as the best in her class, and she survived Titan assaults when many of her fellows succumbed instead. She’s a real survivor.
Mikasa is quick, deadly, and smart in battle with her ODM gear and paring blades, and Batman might consider recruiting her as the new Robin, too. However, Mikasa certainly can’t become the new Batman. She lacks the Dark Knight’s martial arts skills, genius IQ, gadgets, and toughness.
2 STRONGER THAN BATMAN: Rimuru Tempest Has So Many Abilities (That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime)
Rimuru Tempest is one of the most powerful isekai heroes of all, and he could easily stand up to any of the Justice League’s members in battle, especially Batman. Rimuru isn’t a martial arts expert or genius investigator, but like Aang, he makes up for it with his astonishing magical abilities.
Rimuru is a humanoid slime who can do it all – regenerate his flesh with ease, use telepathy, cast powerful elemental magic, sense magic, absorb people with Predator, eat magic with Gluttony, and even grow wings or cast Megiddo to slaughter thousands of people at once. Batman can’t do any of that.
1 WEAKER THAN BATMAN: Thorfinn Karlsefni Is Quick But Not Tough (Vinland Saga)
Thorfinn hails from the medieval anime series Vinland Saga, and he was trained by his enemy Askeladd on how to be a powerful fighter on the modern battlefield. Thorfinn is naturally agile and quick, and he can easily outmaneuver most Vikings and English warriors with ease. His two daggers have claimed many lives.
Thorfinn knows his stuff, but he falls short of the Dark Knight, who can easily match Thorfinn’s fancy moves and back them up with superior strength and technique, as well as his gadgets and investigative skills. Thorfinn, wouldn’t even know how to drive the Batmobile.
