Tournament and Chili Cook-Off
South Dayton American Legion Post #1593 4 Mill St. Sign-in at 11 a.m., pitching starts at 1 p.m. The cost is $10 per player. A soup and/or chili cook off will be held in the afternoon. Contestants should have their crock pots there by noon. There is a $5 entry fee. Sample all the entries and vote by monetary donations to determine the winner. All proceeds will benefit the Legion.
Lakeshore Humane Society Open Adoption Hours
The Lakeshore Humane Society, 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk, will hold open adoption hours from noon to 3 p.m. Regardless of vaccination status, masks covering the nose and mouth must be worn at all times on LHS grounds. Those who are ill, have tested positive for COVID, or have been near someone who has tested positive are asked to delay a visit. Tours of the facility will not be given.
