While supplies last, Walmart is offering a Lenovo Legion Pro 16″ QHD AMD Ryzen 7 RTX 3070 gaming laptop for only $1399, down substantially from its $1700 price point.
Lenovo Legion 5 Pro 16″ RTX 3070 Gaming Laptop
This Lenovo Legion 5 Pro is an excellent mobile gaming rig for two main reasons: its 16″ display and its video card. Lenovo touts the fact that this is the “world’s first 16″ QHD gaming laptop with a 165Hz refresh rate”. Obviously it makes for a great gaming display, especially since it’s also G-SYNC compatible, but it’s also a fine general purpose screen since it’s an IPS panel with 100% sRGB color accuracy and wide viewing angles.
The RTX 3070 found in this laptop has a TDP rating of 140W. That is the maximum TDP rating you’ll find for a mobile RTX 3070 graphics card, meaning this is the one of the most powerful RTX 3070 gaming laptops you can get. Higher TDP means more power is supplied to the graphics card, and that directly equates to better performance in games. Of course it also means more heat output, so Lenovo designed its “Coldfront 3.0” active cooling system to ensure that the components are cooled and you’ll experience zero throttling.
The rest of the features round together to form strong package. The AMD Ryzen 7 processor keeps up with the graphics, as does the generous 16GB of RAM and fast 512GB SSD. Lenovo is generally well known for its durable build quality, and the Legion 5 Pro is no different with its mostly aluminum chassis and thick, sturdy hinges. It’s not the lightest laptop in its class, weighing in at around 5.4 pounds, but any thinnner or lighter and you would probably have to compromise on gaming prowess.
