Bringing some green to the city

Majora Carter specializes in urban revitalization, and is best known for bringing the first open-waterfront park in 60 years to the South Bronx. Carter, a MacArthur fellow and a Peabody Award winning broadcaster, will talk about her work to “green the ghetto,” as part of the National History Museum of Utah’s 2022 lecture series, Monday, April 4, at 7 p.m., at the museum, 301 Wakara Way, Salt Lake City. Tickets are free, but must be reserved (in-person or online) through the museum’s website, nhmu.utah.edu.

Tiptoe around the tulips

A sure sign of spring: The start of Thanksgiving Point’s annual Tulip Festival, starting Friday, April 8, and running through May 7. Some 300,000 tulips are imported from the Netherlands each year for this colorful display, the only one of its kind in the Rockies. Thanksgiving Point is located at 3003 N. Thanksgiving Way, Lehi. A sweet and ‘Sour’ concert in Orem

Olivia Rodrigo first drew attention as one of the stars of “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series,” filmed in Salt Lake City. Then she released the single “Drivers License” and the album “Sour,” and now she’s a global pop star. Her new movie “Driving Home 2 U,” now on Disney+, chronicles a metaphorical road trip from Utah to L.A. Rodrigo returns to Utah Saturday, April 9, for a concert at UCCU Center in Orem. Singer Gracie Abrams is the opening act. Show starts at 8 p.m.; check for tickets at uccucenter.com.
