One of those players definitely NOT getting moved is Patrick Kane

Our NHL trade deadline coverage is on ESPN+ now until 2pm then we switch to ESPN2.

Players I expected to be traded today: Andrew Copp, Max Domi, Rickard Rakell, Phil Kessel.

Know there’s been some speculation, but I was told there’s zero chance Patrick Kane gets traded today.

— Emily Kaplan (@emilymkaplan) March 21, 2022

12:03 p.m. — So far, it’s been quiet in Vancouver today, but there are a few forwards who could be on the move in the next few hours

Lots of curious eyes on the #Canucks forward situation as talk around Tyler Motte (UFA-to-be), Conor Garland (3 years left on deal) & Tanner Pearson (NTC, 2 years left) are ongoing. On Pearson, belief is if he’s presented with a deal to a contender, he’d likely waive.

— Pierre LeBrun (@PierreVLeBrun) March 21, 2022

11:32 a.m. — Filip Forsberg, a name that was potentially on the trade block, will likely get neither extended or traded today by the Predators

— Elliotte Friedman (@FriedgeHNIC) March 21, 2022

11:14 a.m. — In lieu of the Fleury trade, the Wild are working on a separate deal involving goalie Kaapo Kahkonen

10:45 a.m. — The Jets are trading Bryan Little’s contract to the Coyotes. The 34-year-old has not played since Nov. 5 of the 2019-20 season. He has two years left on his contract with an AAV of just over $5.2 million

The rights to Nathan Smith were sent to Arizona has a part of the deal. The forward from Minnesota State University – Mankato finished second this season in points in college hockey

** Breaking News ** ??@NHLJets are trading Brian Little’s contract to @ArizonaCoyotes .@espn @NHLNetwork @TSNHockey #HockeyTwitter pic.twitter.com/3I6C4Xpxo1

— Kevin Weekes (@KevinWeekes) March 21, 2022

Per @darrendreger, WPG sending rights to unsigned collegian Nathan Smith along with Little’s contract to ARI for a fourth-round pick. Smith was not signing in WPG and eligible to be UFA this summer. https://t.co/CSdyir6iAK

— Bobby Margarita (@TSNBobMcKenzie) March 21, 2022

10:15 a.m. — In a surprising move, the Bruins extended Jake DeBrusk for two years. The winger had previously requested a trade from the team in November and has maintained that request so perhaps a sign-and-trade is in the works

— Boston Bruins (@NHLBruins) March 21, 2022

The Jake DeBrusk signing by BOS is very interesting. The trade request has not been rescinded. The worry about his qualifying offer/next contract is erased, however. We will see where it goes.

— Elliotte Friedman (@FriedgeHNIC) March 21, 2022

10:05 a.m. — The Senators signed goaltender Anton Forsberg to a three-year extension, taking another potential goaltending trade target off the board

— Ottawa Senators (@Senators) March 21, 2022

9:33 a.m. — John Klingberg, who had reportedly asked for a trade earlier this season, is likely staying with the Stars

Sense is still that the Dallas Stars, in a playoff race, are most likely keeping pending UFA D John Klingberg although slight window open in the event the offer is tantalizing. Most likely staying, however.

— Pierre LeBrun (@PierreVLeBrun) March 21, 2022

8:47 a.m. — One name that has not been mentioned before in trade rumors is John Gibson, but it’s going around today. There have been few goaltenders on the trade block but he could be one of them

An interesting name floating around lately: John Gibson

Would certainly be a significant deal if it happens, but it sounds like the #FlyTogether will listen. He has a 10-team no-trade list.

— David Pagnotta (@TheFourthPeriod) March 21, 2022

8:21 a.m. — Marcus Johansson, a pending free agent on the Kraken, could be traded today. He would be the sixth Kraken player moved this deadline already

— Chris Johnston (@reporterchris) March 21, 2022

7:50 a.m. — Karel Vejmelka is off the trade board, as the Coyotes have given the goaltender a three-year extension

Sounds like a 3-year contract for Karel Vejmelka.

— Jeff Marek (@JeffMarek) March 21, 2022

7:48 a.m. — The Flyers are not expected to be active sellers, keeping Travis Konecny and Ivan Provorov. Only deal they are expected to make is to move Justin Braun

Expecting the Philadelphia Flyers to be pretty quiet outside of a deal for Justin Braun.

— Jeff Marek (@JeffMarek) March 21, 2022

Not overly surprising given that they did their heavy lifting over the weekend.

I’m sure there are outside chances they trade Brassard and Jones, but don’t get the sense those are slam dunks.

They aren’t trading Konecny or Provorov today, either.#BringItToBroad https://t.co/31aHQSulIn

— Anthony Di Marco (@ADiMarco25) March 21, 2022

7:30 a.m. — Sounds like Andrew Cogliano will be on the move today as the Sharks shop the pending free agent forward

Let’s see if forward Andrew Cogliano finds a new home today. Pending UFA, $1M AAV. Quality veteran, help on PK.

Sharks hope to find a home on a contender for him.

— Pierre LeBrun (@PierreVLeBrun) March 21, 2022

5:35 a.m. — Nathan Beaulieu is headed from the Jets to the Penguins for a conditional seventh-round pick

Nate Beaulieu traded from Winnipeg to Pittsburgh for a conditional 7th.

— Darren Dreger (@DarrenDreger) March 21, 2022

Midnight — Here’s a quick breakdown of a few of the big trades that occurred over the weekend:

  • Claude Giroux trade grades: Panthers go all-in with Flyers deal ahead of 2022 NHL trade deadline
  • Hampus Lindholm trade grades: Bruins pay price to solidify top four on defense
