Superstar Prabhas is a crowd-puller, not just in the real world but also in the virtual space. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that as soon as it was announced the trailer of his upcoming film, ‘Radhe Shyam’ will be launched in metaverse, #RadheShyamonMetaverse started trending.
According to a report in Zee News, almost 2 lakh fans rushed to enter the Metaverse in just 3 minutes of the trailer’s launch, which caused the servers to crash. The report claims that fans not only marked their attendance in the virtual space to see the showcase of the film’s trailer, but also poured likes, and comments. For the uninitiated, Metaverse is a three-dimensional virtual ecosystem for social connections.
Directed by Radha Krishna Kumar, ‘Radhe Shyam’ a multilingual romantic-drama is set in Europe in the 1970’s and features Prabhas as Vikramaditya, who falls in love with Prerana, played by Pooja Hegde. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has turned narrator for the Hindi version of this film.

‘Radhe Shyam’ also stars Bhagyashree, Murli Sharma, Sachin Khedekar, Priyadarshi, Sasha Chettri, Kunaal Roy Kapur and Sathyan. The film is presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series and is produced by UV Creations, Bhushan Kumar, Vamsi and Pramod. ‘Radhe Shyam’ is slated to release in theatres on March 11 in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
Talking about the film, Prabhas had said in a previous interview, “’Radhe Shyam’ is a love story but (many other elements) are also there. There are many twists and turns in the film and I hope you will enjoy it. I think the climax would be a highlight.”
The film has faced considerable delays due to Covid, not just in its release but also in its filming schedule. “It is not a joke to work on a film for five years. Because the film started and came to a halt, again planning a film. This was after ‘Baahubali’, then starting at the time of ‘Saaho’, then stopping it due to COVID and again resuming it. It would be very frustrating but he fought (back),” the 42-year-old star had said.
