Lake effect snow snarled traffic along the Wasatch Front early Friday, but conditions are expected to improve after 11 a.m., according to the National Weather Service.

The snow brought traffic to a crawl — in some areas, to a complete stop — on Interstate 15, Interstate 80 and Interstate 215, as well as surface streets. According to the Utah Highway Patrol, there were dozens of crashes.

Snow is making for a difficult commute for portions of the Wasatch Front. Expect snow to continue through the morning. Slow down, increase distances as snow is sticking to all surfaces quickly! #utwx pic.twitter.com/IA3gQ0msos
