Team17 QA Report Publisher Taking On “Too Many Games” With Poor Pay And Morale
Team 17 has been in the firing line today, with many employees coming out and speaking to the press after the publisher’s recent foray into NFTs. According to workers who spoke with Eurogamer, the publisher has “too many games” in the works and that employees are chastised for not meeting expectations. There are also reports that Team 17 is offering employees “terrible” pay, forcing some to “skip meals” and “go into the office during the pandemic” just to get by.
The release of The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power is drawing ever closer, and Amazon has now given us our first look at some characters in the show. Revealed by Vanity Fair, the costumes and sets look very high-budget and well-made, as you might expect from a TV show that’s being funded by one of the most successful companies on the planet. It’ll be awhile until we get to see these actors in motion though, as the show doesn’t premiere until September 2 later this year.
Resident Evil 4 Remake Reportedly Going For Darker, Spookier Tone Than The Original
We also got some interesting Resident Evil news today as it’s been reported that Capcom has big plans for Resident Evil 4 Remake. The publisher is apparently attempting to make Resident Evil 4 Remake much scarier than the original, using Resident Evil 4’s scrapped demos as inspiration. These demos saw protagonist Leon Kennedy attacked by dolls, something which made its way into Resident Evil Village last year. The same report also claims that Resident Evil 4 Remake will be announced in 2022, so we won’t have to wait long until we can see what Capcom has changed.

It looks like Battlefield 2042 players really, really want refunds. A petition demanding EA to allow dissatisfied customers to refund the game has been gaining support over the past couple of days, now reaching over 120,000 signatures and growing rapidly. It’s not unheard of for a big publisher to offer customers refunds outside of Steam, who could forget when Cyberpunk 2077 was delisted from the PlayStation Store after a similarly disastrous launch. Only time will tell if EA caves to the pressure.
Bender Voice Actor Isn’t Returning For New Futurama Run After Apparently Being “Lowballed” By Hulu
Finally, we have a follow-up on yesterday’s news that Futurama is getting a revival via Hulu which is set to premiere in 2023. Most of the original show’s voice actors will be returning, but it’s transpired today that Bender voice actor John DiMaggio will not be reprising his role. This is allegedly due to DiMaggio’s proposed pay not being “competitive” considering Futurama’s popularity. Hulu could come back with another deal, but there are reports that the company is looking to recast Bender instead.
