Dead Space release date, E3 2022 plans, Dr Disrespect Twitch ban update, and Elden Ring’s most useless item.

Dead Space Isaac Clarke Standard RIG Suit

Happy Friday, gamers. We’re two weeks into March, or as I like to call it, the first month after Elden Ring. If you’re looking to catch up on the news before the weekend begins, we’ve got some juicy stories to go over. We finally have some release date info on Dead Space, and it turns out E3 2022 isn’t totally canceled after all. We also got an update on Dr Disrepect’s permanent ban from Twitch, and found out which Elden Ring item is the most useless of all. Here are the biggest news stories from Friday, March 11, 2022.

Dead Space Isaac Clarke Standard RIG Suit

In a livestream update today, Dead Space developers Motive Studios revealed that that remake now has an early 2023 projected release date. This official confirmation follows yesterday’s VentureBeat report that claimed the same thing. The upcoming Dead Space remake was first announced in 2021 when it was described as a reimagining of the series. The remake won’t have loading screens, which has led to some comparisons to God of War.

E3

According to industry insider Tom Henderson, E3 is still happening this year, albeit only online. E3 originally canceled its 2022 in-person event last year but didn’t confirm whether a virtual event was still in the works or not. This led to speculation that E3 had been canceled outright – perhaps permanently – but this apparently isn’t the case. According to Henderson, the ESRB sent out emails to developers today confirming E3 2022 online. There was not yet been an official confirmation from any of E3’s social media pages.

When Dr Disrespect was permanently banned from Twitch in 2020 shortly after signing an exclusive contract, fans were understandably confused. In subsequent interviews, the streamer was cagey about the ban, citing legal reasons and refusing to speak openly on the subject. Doc has been streaming on YouTube ever since, but never divulged the circumstances of his ban. Yesterday, Dr Disrespect tweeted a picture of a card that reads “I have resolved my legal dispute with Twitch. No party admits to any wrongdoing.” It seems unlikely we’ll ever find out the reason Dr Disrespect was kicked off of Twitch.

EldenRingCat

The Longtail Cat Talisman may be the most useless item in Elden Ring, according to fans of the game on YouTube and Twitter. YouTuber Iron Pineapple shared a screenshot of the in-game item description that promises it “Renders the wearer immune to fall damage.” Anyone that’s used the charm knows that, unfortunately, it doesn’t stop the wearer from dying to fall damage. Thanks to the post, many Elden Ring players learned for the first time how much of a troll this talisman really is. It’s not that it doesn’t work, it’s just that the threshold between fall damage and lethal fall damage is extraordinarily narrow. When you need it the most, the Longtail Cat Talisman is guaranteed to let you down.
